Hi Joanne
I am sorry to hear that this has returned. Like you I had bedwetting issues as a child and occasionally into my teens. Then dry. Then a spinal injury changed all that!
Oxybutin did not work for me either. Also tried DDAVP spray – very effective at night but made day time problems worse and gave me an awful headache.
I have manage my incontinence by wearing protection, in my case ‘adult nappies’. I use the TENA Slip Maxi all in one taped briefs/nappies and get the on the NHS.
They have given me the confidence to lead life normally and to the full. When I met my now wife I was 31, still in the Army but with this injury and ‘problem’. It was not easy telling her! But she was so understanding from the start and has put up with me for the last 25 years!
I think the best thing would be to find the best protection for you so that it does not impact on your relationship.
I hope that helps.
