I have had a dribble for many years but recently it has gotten worse. I am 38 in general good health. I use a tena level 1 pad for protection, though sometimes I dont need it. Some days I have wet spots some days I dont. I feel like when I do use pads I make things worse either from overthinking the situation or maybe because I feel more relaxed and therefore my bladder is more relaxed. Thoughts? This is mostly a post void dribble, but I do at time feel pressure when coughing. I very rarely leak when I cough but I often feel pressure all the way up to the tip even if nothing comes out. Like I said it really rare for any leakage when coughing. The odd part is when I go without a pad I feel like I leak less than I do with a pad on. Because a large level of leaks are up to date, my wife and I just figure it’s best to keep one on at least while at work. I’m a supervisor and where dress pants so spots are easily seen.
I dont use lighter pads because they are just physically to small for comfort and convenience. Pad or no pad I get from dry up to leaks 2-3 inches in diameter. Comes and goes. Sometime I feel a release as soon as I put my junk in my underwear, sometimes it might be 5 min after I go and I have sat at my desk. It just varies.
I don`t rate lighter pads because they don`t give the feeling of support and peace of mind that I need 24/7. I`ve just gone back to I.D. belted slips and have complete confidence by day and sleep soundly at night, whether I wet or not. My advice is to treat what you wear as underwear, that will do the job properly and forget what you are wearing that is outside “the norm”. You are wearing protection for a reason and it isn`t your fault nor the concern of the wider population. Look after number one! It sounds like your partner is supportive, just as mine is. Best wishes with the issue.
Thanks for your question.
Yes, I agree with the contribution above: try and forget you are wearing a product. If it helps, you should try wearing pull up pants, there are plenty of discreet ones such as Depend. These feel like normal underwear and will be easier to forget about. They are also often more comfortable. Is something you would try?
You are probably too aware of the fact you are wearing a pad. I agree that you should keep wearing products, as it is better than risking an accident without one.
I’m not opposed to using disposable underwear it is just way more protection than what I need. I never use more than one tena level one a day. Even then the wet spot thay has accumulated throughout the day is about 2/3 the size of my palm.so under is over kill by far. It seems that I release more with a pad on than without. But even doing to post void cleaning tips I still leak, sometimes a 2-3 inch spot. So I use the pads just in case. I’ve gone without pads and been fine, but there is always a wet spot when I use a pad. That’s why i ask if its partially psychological, or am i just more relaxed and maybe less adamant about through milking after voiding.
