I have stress incontinence and leak whenever I jog, run or even do mild exercise. I have been told that sugary, fizzy drinks are out the question. However, I have gotten used to drinking diet coke in the afternoon to give me a sugar boost. I obviously don’t want to have to stop this. Does anyone have any guidance, do I need to stop having these completely?
Fizzy drinks are a known bladder irritant, so it would be a good idea to cut down on these as much as possible. As it may be difficult to do this suddenly, I would recommend gradually consuming less and less. An idea would be to replace fizzy drinks with alternatives such as dilute orange that are still and not too acidic.
