My mum has dementia and over the past few months has started having accidents. She’s currently in a care home and wearing a nappy style product but were having difficulty keeping this on her as she can pull it off easily. I’m not sure if this is the right product for her?
It is likely that the nappy style product is too large and is causing irritation.
A small product may be more comfortable for your mum, as she is less likely to be annoying by its presence and less likely to remove it. Disposable products can be highly absorbent even in small sizes; a product does not have to be large to be absorbent.
Does your mum have severe or light incontinence? Is it just urinary incontinence she is suffering from or both faecal and urinary leaks?
