Hi,
I take care of my dad who has Dementia. He has been living with me for the past year, as he became unable to do some things for himself and started forgetting basic things. My wife has changed her part time job to full time whilst I look after him. We do get carers allowance, however I do feel bad being the only one staying at home while she works. I am also struggling big time to take care of him. He has recently become incontinent, mostly urinary but on occasions has been faecal. He is in all in ones, I have followed every tip that the NHS has provided, including making clear signs and using alarms. I am just finding it too hard, he is having constant accidents. Constantly changing clothes, bathing him and trying everything. Is this the time to take him to a care home? It would be devastating, as I enjoy his company. Are there any other options? Thanks, Kevin
