Hi..I hope someone can help. I had a hysterectomy for cervical cancer 6 years ago. Recently, I have been having leaks when my bladder is under pressure, such as during exercise or coughing. Do you think this could be due to my hysterectomy? I have heard this can be possible…or could it be something else?
Hi, many women do experience incontinence years after hysterectomy. This is due to damage to the pelvic floor muscles during the operation. There are many instances where this can happen, so you are certainly not alone in this.
Have you also experienced pregnancy or menopause? What you have described is stress incontinence, and is commonly caused by these factors.
