I was hoping on some advice I suffer with what I believe is incontinence I’m 80 and just manage this by changing my underwear regularly which isn’t ideal my age! I was thinking of just using some normal sanitary pads but I don’t know if this would be advised. I would appreciate some advice on products available for light incontinence.
Thank you in advance
Sorry to hear you are struggling with this. Sanitary products are not designed to absorb urine, so it is important that you do not settle for this. You need a specialised incontinence product to provide you with the security you need. There are a lot of options for light incontinence products; feel free to read our blog on the different types of light incontinence products.
Choosing a product often depends on your mobility. Are you fairly mobile or do you have limited mobility?
You might feel more comfortable in a shaped incontinence pad. Have you heard of Tena Lady? They are a range of pads designed for women with light incontinence. As they are body shaped, they will provide a close fit.
You wear these inside your underwear just as you would sanitary products. Would you be willing to try these?
Tena Lady Mini Plus are small discrete pads designed for light incontinence. It would be ideal to start with these, as they are slightly more absorbent than Tena Lady Mini. If you find these are not absorbent enough or your incontinence worsens, you could try the Tena Lady Extra Pads.
