I finally visited my Doctor today about my incontinence caused by complications with a hysterectomy. As I am quite young, he didn’t understand that I need a heavier product as my incontinence isn’t just “light and subtle”. I really think there is a lack of understanding when talking to professionals about incontinence. He didn’t seem to understand anything about the embarrassment that comes with it and just said to find a shaped pad. My incontinence is moderate…not super heavy but I definitely need more than a tiny, flimsy product. Anyone who can relate and recommend products would be a life saver as I want to hear it from another person and not just a product description. Laura
A pull up pant sounds like it would give me reassurance, I might try these out and if I need more absorbency then I’ll try a slip product. TENA pants seem to be very popular…I’ve seen they’re also available in different levels.
Yes, it was a GP I spoke to. I have arranged an appointment with an incontinence nurse which unfortunately isn’t until two weeks away. I’m hoping they’ll give me some good tips on managing this as it is really getting in the way of daily life.
Thanks for your help!
