I am in need of allergenic products as i tend to be allergic to most incontinence products. I suffer with bladder incontinence and now stuck what to use as the pads i have now are starting to give me a rash. Can anyone send a link or something to help
There is a range called the Cottons Comfort Range, which includes incontinence pads designed specially for sensitive skin. You can shop the range here.
It is really important to have a good skincare regime in place, especially if you have incontinence. Do you have a skin routine?
In people with urinary incontinence, the urea in urine can change the skin environment, encouraging bacteria to grow. The skin then loses it’s natural barrier against infection. You are then more vulnerable to a variety of threats, including incontinence-associated dermatitis and pressure ulcers.
A skincare routine helps to prevent the occurrence of incontinence-associated dermatitis; this should include gentle cleansing, application of a moisturizer and the use of a barrier cream.
Let me know if you would like any recommendations to where you can purchase skin care products.
A structured skin care regime should be compromised of cleansing the skin, application of a moisturizer and application of a skin protectant. Gentle cleansing and moisturizing can protect your skin against moisture. A cleansing foam such as Clinisan Skin Cleansing Foam provides gentle cleansing as an alternative to soap and water. You can purchase Clinisan foam here. iD Care Moisturising Milk is a popular choice of moisturiser for those with incontinence. You should also use barrier cream such as iD Care Zinc Oxide to prevent and calm any irritation.
Let me know how you find the Cottons Comforts.
