I hate even writing this as it is so embarrassing. I have incontinence due to Prostate Cancer and surgery. It has all cleared which I am so thankful for, however it has left me with incontinence. I have been really liking the TENA for men pads, however they are just not working for overnight use. They are moving around and I am leaking through etc. Anyone have advice on some reliable yet un-bulky products for overnight use? Shawn
As a fellow victim of prostate cancer and successful treatment for it thanks to radiotherapy, I most certainly recommend wearing a slip. Essentially they are nappies for adults but do not be put off by the terminology. My brand of choice is I.D. Expert which come in different absorbencies and sizes and won`t let you down for overnight wettings. They fit closely to the body and you`ll be able to get a good night`s sleep without the worry of leakages. You can get samples from most of the reputable suppliers that advertise on this and other internet sites.
Good luck and hope this helps.
Thanks for your replies, I appreciate it!
I have heard of slips, and my only concern is them being too warm and uncomfortable during the night, especially if it’s getting sunny. Are they easy to forget about during the night, ie. get used to? May be completely wrong, that was just my initial thought!
But I will look at both iD Expert Slip and the TENA Slip.
Glad my input was helpful to you. Slips/nappies are very comfortable at night and I have used them for many years. There is no heat/perspiration issue, even at this time of year. You just put one on and forget you are wearing it, just like an item of underwear. I also wear nappies by day and I`m totally used to the feel of them, protecting me from any embarrassment. The peace of mind that they give you is wonderful. Male pads have their limitations as posted earlier. Hope this further advice is useful to you.
