I feel that i’m the youngest here! Im age 31 been dealing with incontinence most of my life, It would be nice to know that im not the only young person her dealing with incontinence. It is looked upon that incontinence only affects older people, but that’s just not true
Long before the internet and the superlative support that is available, particularly on this forum, I had to endure my wetting in silence and suffered a lot of mental distress because of lack of support and understanding. My problems went back to my childhood and teens. For sure, you are not the youngest at 31 if my experience is anything to go by. Look after yourself and don`t feel bad. Incontinence is nothing to be ashamed about. Just manage your condition with whatever you wear, as I`m sure you have learned to do.
I’m 43. Been buying my own gear (and getting rubbish on the NHS) all my life. The shame vanished 15 years ago, and moreso 3 when I went 24/7. What’s more embarassing: soaked jeans or a full pad underneath dry jeans? The latter for me. I love what my slips do for me…
incontinence can strike at any age for many different reasons. you have nothing to be ashamed of, the most important thing in life for me. and I have a couple of disabilities, or rather challenges is to … maintain a positive attitude. like attracts like. so if you negative. you will screw yourself over. good luck mate
There are a lot of users on our forum who are younger, so you are definitely not the only one. I agree that is often thought of as something that only seniors experience, however the contributions on our site definitely show different.
Feel free to post if you need any tips on management. Our living with incontinence section also provides guidance to make you more confident in managing it.
