I experience leaks during sport and at the gym (weight lifting etc.) Nothing major, but I know I’m not alone as there’s often a used pad or pull-up in the changing room bins. I prefer to wear pullup underwear and stretch boxers over for discretion which works well – usually Tena men active. Anyone have any other top-tips or product preferences for the gym?
Hi Craig,
I don`t do gym but have what is called athletic urgency as well as some side-effects from radiotherapy for prostate cancer. I wear 24/7 but having tried pull-ups, prefer slips underneath my underwear. They suit me better and give me a closer fit and complete confidence when I`m running or on a long journey. Preferred brand is I.D. Expert, though Tena are good too.

Thanks for replying. I’ve tried using slips at the gym with some success in that they’re “smoother” around my rear unlike pull-ups which are kind of ruffled, but they’re a bit of a faf to put on and take off. If it’s not too personal, what type of underwear do you use over your slips?
Hi Craig,
I too don`t like pull-ups because of their ruffled feeling. They sag when wet, too.
I find that I can ease my slip off my pelvis quite easily to use the loo, then ease it back on again, without having to unfasten the velcro. To answer your question, I wear close-fitting M&S cotton briefs over my slip. I also have to wear plastic pants at night, but clearly you are not in that situation.
Regards, John
I wouldn’t be comfortable in a slip in the gym. I prefer pull-ups like Tena, Depend or even Boots Chemist Staydri. Easier to manage in the changing room as you can just pull them on and off like normal underwear. I’ve been wearing them for 10 yrs and never had anyone make any comment while I’m changing. I agree about wearing tight boxers over them to make them more discreet. I wear Calvin Kline or Next “trunks” over the pants and under my regular sports shorts
