Hi. I have very severe bladder incontinence. I have no control over it at all and my stream is very heavy. Every single time i ‘go’ i end up having to change my pull up. This could sometimes be 6, 7 maybe 8 times in a night. Not very nice at all. I’m looking for recommendations for severe urinal incontinence if anyone else has suffered this. Thanks
Hi,
Do you know the name of the pull-ups you are currently in?
There are other options for managing severe urinary incontinence, so you should not settle for a product that is not effective.
Have you heard of all in ones before? They are the most absorbent option for managing severe incontinence. They are belted nappy style products and can be left on for much longer than a pull-up product. They are also much easier to put on and remove, making changing product less stressful. Although they are bigger than a pad, they will keep you dry for longer.
You also have the option of highly absorbent shaped pads for severe incontinence. These are more discreet, however, will need to be changed more frequently than an all in one. They are also less secure for nighttime use. If you are looking for a product you will have to change less frequently overnight, an all in one would be ideal.
Which product style would you like to try? I am happy to recommend a specific product if needed.
A popular all in one for heavy to severe bladder incontinence is the iD Expert Belt Maxi. It features super absorbent polymers and non-woven material to ensure maximum comfort. iD Expert Belt Maxi also has velcro fastenings, which means it is easy to put on and remove.
Would you like a link to where to you could buy these online?
think i need help with this post too. pull ups arn’t working for me and i am not sure if i should switch to slips, or if that is a bad idea or not.
An all in one with a Maxi absorbency is much more beneficial if pull ups are not absorbent enough. They do however feel different to pull up pants as they are designed like a nappy, so bear in mind that they will take a few days to get used to.
