Hello anyone reading this,
I care for my wife who is incontinent and was just wondering if anyone has any advice on dealing with incontinence in the home. I use some pads from a store near us but its not sufficient enough I’m worried about out mattress and the chair she uses in the day getting ruined, which I could do without having to replace. I’ve never bought anything like this so was hoping for some advice?
Thank you,
Peter.
Hi,
Don’t worry, there are a range of bed and chair protective pads available in the market. You can choose between different absorbencies and sizes. You would benefit from choosing a product that is either machine washable or is easily able to be wiped down.
Does your wife have skin that is sensitive to any fabrics or does she have any allergies?
For chair pads, a website called Incontinence Supermarket do a range of chair pads called Primacare. They have non-slip backing and a snag resistant velour top surface. These are available in range of colours.
A product called Fusion washable bed pads are very popular for bed protection. They are designed in a turquoise colour. Fusion pads are 88 x 88cm and have a 2 litre capacity. Would you be interested in trying these?
Let me know if you would like more information or a link to any of these options!
You can purchase Fusion Washable Bed Pads here. You can also find Primacare chair pads online here.
What pads are you currently wearing? If you let me know the severity of your incontinence, I can recommend a more absorbent product for you.
