My 10 year old son has been suffering with giggle incontinence for the last 5 years, he is under a urologist and I have an appointment booked for 2 weeks time with a private consultant forms second opinion as I am just so desperate now. He has been on oxybutinin and tolterodine, neither of which proved beneficial. It is now having a major impact on his mental health and he has completely isolated himself from friends by refusing to socialise and has stopped all extra curricular activities. Is there anyone else that is going through this that may have some advice or someone that can recommend incontinence underwear (that isn’t bulky) that will hold a full bladder empty please.
Hi Kiz, I am so sorry to hear about your son, I really hope that you got more in the way of help from the 2nd opinion. Is there someone at his school that could help support him mental health wise or camhs? I wish I had some advice but I have just started the process of trying to get some help for this in my son. He is only 5 but it has been going on for a couple of years. It was OK because he was little and for some reason it was fine at school but now its started happening frequently and he has had kids laughing at him. He is a really outgoing little boy and I really dont want this to affect him. We have a telephone call with an enuresis service soon, and have seen a continence nurse who could give general advice but said she had never seen anyone with this. TBH we have not been good with carrying out the general stuff she recommended but I think we have to now. Hope you are closer to an answer with your son x
