I’m 13 and recently i have begun to wet the bed again. I started a month ago and over the last week i have begun to wet myself during the day. First time i realised as i started peeing but today i was walking out of my front door to the shops and i realised only when i heard the pee dripping on the floor. No warning just complete loss of bladder control. Please advise
Hi Emily, I’m 18 and I have had incontinence of the bladder since I can remember. Mine is mainly triggered by laugher, but I often used to get random spasms, which sound more like what you describe. I finally went to see a urologist when I was 15 and this really helped me as 1) psychologically it helped me to have someone take my issue seriously (previously some gps / family had blamed me for ‘not going to the toilet often enough’) and 2) they were able to advise me on potential causes and ways to deal with my incontinence. For me they recommended pelvic floor exercise and cutting out caffeine as it can cause bladder spasms, however your situation may be entirely different and there are many causes including stress that may be applicable to you. You can still book an online GP appointment during lockdown, and if they are no help, ask them to refer you to a urologist. using tena pads seems like a good idea at the moment for you, but i have little experience to advise you on products. Stay strong Emily x
