Hi everyone,
I am completely stuck on what to with this. My son (14) has randomly started wetting the bed and is totally confused and upset about it. He was late to stop bedwetting when he was younger however I have no idea as to why this would happen. He will not talk to me about it much more and has only just told me. Need to go to a Doctor but I doubt he would come with me. Anyone have any tips? Thanks
OK – there are answers and he should not feel bad about it. It is very common – a lot more common than you might think. I wet until I was well into my seventh year and also wet due to exam stress during my teens. First port of call is your GP to rule out any physical abnormalities. That sorted, there are many products out in the market place that can save the laundry department. I wear slips (basically adult nappies) and have done so for many years. They are totally comfortable and might take the stress out of him sleeping and, in turn, worrying about whether he`ll have an accident at night. He need not feel embarrassed as I did when I was growing up. He grew out of it as a child and there is no reason to think that he wouldn`t do so again. Best wishes.
