How many people here are fearful of being in a relationship because of their incont problems , I know I am
Hi there,
I absolutely know how you feel. Although I had wet the bed as a child and into my teens my problems really started after a spinal injury in my mid-20s. This certainly affected my seeking a relationship and also stopped me staying overnight with friends etc. When I did meet someone I was keen on I told them and after the initial surprise – not least as I have no obvious disability – they were always supportive. Some did find the fact that I wore nappies to bed a little disconcerting to start with. But it beats a wet bed! I finally met someone very special and we have been married for 27 years, with three now grown up boys. Over the years I have three major spinal operations and my incontinence has got worse. I now wear protection, in my case the TENA Slip Maxi Active Fit adult nappies, 24/7. Don’t let it stop you forming relationships. If the person you meet is serious about you, I am sure they will understand your bedwetting issue. I hope this helps.
