Hi everyone,
I finally visited my Doctor today about my incontinence caused by complications with a hysterectomy. As I am quite young, he didn’t understand that I need a heavier product as my incontinence isn’t just “light and subtle”. I really think there is a lack of understanding when talking to professionals about incontinence. He didn’t seem to understand anything about the embarrassment that comes with it and just said to find a shaped pad. My incontinence is moderate…not super heavy but I definitely need more than a tiny, flimsy product. Anyone who can relate and recommend products would be a life saver as I want to hear it from another person and not just a product description. Laura
Hi,
Not a very helpful attitude, I agree. I`ve had the most helpful support from both NHS and private professionals when discussing my needs. Pads of various sizes are inclined to slip about inside one`s underwear and I`ve been using slips/nappies for many years now and highly recommend them for peace of mind and total discretion. They contour very well to one`s body and won`t let you down. Pick the right size from the I.D. Expert or Tena ranges. Most good suppliers will send out samples and their helplines are very good for advice and support. Good luck!
