I’ve recently started with what I think is incontinence, I’m too embarrassed to talk to anyone about it, I don’t want to leave the house anymore and I just don’t know what I should do??
Sorry to hear you are worried about this. Do not be embarrassed, the NHS estimates that between 3 and 6 million people in the UK have some degree of urinary incontinence!
What are the symptoms of your incontinence? If you describe what you are experiencing and how severe it is, I can provide you with lifestyle tips and product advice. There are products available that provide odour control and are discreet, so you shouldn’t be scared to get out of the house.
Are you having leaks of urine or faeces?
The main types of incontinence are known as stress incontinence, urge incontinence, overflow incontinence, faecal incontinence and nocturnal enuresis. Can you relate to any of the information in these sections? These conditions are only labelled so we can find the best treatment methods depending on the cause.
It is also vital to see a Doctor. Doctors deal with this problem on almost a daily basis, so you shouldn’t be embarrassed. This is necessary to ensure there is no major underlying cause.
well its been going on for a while i first noticed it when i was doing certain activity, coughing, laughing, sneezing and so on which i just sort of ignored as it wasn’t too bad but now it seems to be getting worse to the point i don’t know the specific cause but my underwear is pretty wet. I’m leaking just urine. I cannot imagine how i would cope if it was both!! I wouldn’t say its heavy but definitely not just a little bit any more. i hope you can help. Its really starting to bother me.
Thanks in Advance.
In many cases, urinary incontinence is treatable. Have you tried any natural treatment methods, such as pelvic floor exercises? I’m happy to talk you through the possible treatment methods.
It is also vital to see a Doctor to identify if there is an underlying cause of your leakages. Although embarrassing, this is vital in case you need specific medication. They can also help outline which type of incontinence you have.
Have you thought about products? You will need to wear a protective product for urine leaks. Pads are often used for light to moderate leakages and are a discreet option.
