Hey guys,
I have incontinence and have been experiencing this for probably nearly a year now I’m still not very confident with products available and still learning how to deal with this. I’m very conscious when out in public or if I have anyone round at my home. I’ve herd of plastic underwear for adults and was wondering what they are used for? Would anyone recommend a specific pant? I was wondering if they would benefit me.
Thanks!! Xxx
Might be expected to be a good solution but frankly I have found them a great disappointment. Liquids always find the lowest point so if any leakage leaves the pad it will run to the bottom of the plastic pants but when sitting this will then be on the level with the leg openings where they touch the chair, where it will seep out to leave growing wet patches on back of trousers/skirt. May be ok if you are always on your feet.
Hi,
What is the severity of your incontinence? Waterproof pants are designed to provide additional protection. Many people choose waterproof pants when they need extra protection alongside a pad or pant.
As you are not confident with products yet, you may want to choose an all in one or a pad to start off with. These will feel discreet and more like normal underwear than waterproof pants.
Is it just urinary incontinence you are struggling with or both faecal and urinary?
Hello, Thank you for both your reply’s. I have urinary incontinence i would say its quiet heavy at times. I’m just really paranoid when i go anywhere or when i’m around people in case i have an accident. It literally rules my life. I’m wearing a Tena pull up at the minute its a super medium there pretty good but i don’t think its enough for my needs. What do you think i should do? Thanks.
Would you be willing to try a more absorbent pull up pant? As you are not yet confident about products, a pad with plastic pants might be uncomfortable and come as a shock.
For heavy incontinence, there are many other more absorbent options of pull ups. Tena Pants Maxi are suitable for heavy to continuous incontinence and would be much more reliable.
All in ones are slightly bulkier than pull ups, so you would likely feel more comfortable in pull ups. Let me know if you would be willing to try another pull up.
