Hi thanks for taking the time to read this.
I’m incredibly embarrassed to be writing this but I need some help. For the past couple of months I have been wetting the bed and it doesn’t seem to be going. I have recently tried using some sanitary towels but I don’t think they’re helping as I’m still wet in the morning. I really don’t want to go to the doctors as I just feel so embarrassed about this. I am 23 please help my mattress is ruined and I just can’t carry on what can I do??
You really should go and see your doctor as it could be a UTI which can be easily treated. In the meantime you need to sort out some protection for your mattress and possibly think about wearing protection yourself. Waterproof mattress covers are easy to find online as are incontinence products. You can also get washable bed pads to sleep on. I have one and it is excellent. You might find that the pull up type of incontinence pants work for you. It all depends on the extent of your bed wetting. I have been living with this issue for over 30 years following a spinal injury aged 26 (though I did wet the bed as a younger child and as a teenager). My wetting is such that I wear The TENA Slip Maxi all-in-one adult nappies with a waterproof backing and taped sides. You can these and other brands online too and delivery is always discreet. I actually get mine free of charge on the NHS. I hope this helps. You are certainly not alone in dealing with this but I would urge you to see you doctor or maybe the local Continence Nurse Specialist. Good luck.
