Hello,
Anyone have any advice on which product type is best to wear on a plane for a long time? I have quite heavy urinary and faecal incontinence due to a serious operation and nerve damage
Hi,
You need to wear a highly absorbent product on a plane, due to the amount of time you will be sat down. As everyone else has suggested, I definitely agree that an all in one is your best option. These are the most absorbent, and are ideal for sitting down in for a long time. I would choose a higher absorbency than you normally wear. For heavy faecal and urinary incontinence, TENA Sip Ultima are very effective, as they are even more absorbent than TENA Slip Maxi. Ensure you take some on board with you as well in case you need to change the product, you can ring the airline beforehand to see if there are luggage restrictions on these.
Do you know whereabouts you are sitting on the aeroplane? It may be worth ringing the airline and asking about the configuration of the plane. If you can, try and ensure you are sitting in an aisle seat where you can get to the toilet easily.
Don’t worry, with organisation beforehand you can relax and enjoy the flight. Ensure you have done enough pre-planning.
