Hi I’m nearly 60 and I’ve lived with incontinence for 20 odd years.
I wear disposable all in ones and plastic pants ( a nappy )
My question is am I wrong to call it a nappy what do you call them.
I use the TENA Slip Maxi Active Fit. It’s an all in one plastic backed incontinence pad that affixes with sticky plastic tapes so there is no getting away from the fact that it is an adult nappy. I don’t mind referring to them as such on a forum such as this where I know others will understand but when I was in hospital and needed help changing I referred to it as an incontinence pad. “I’m sorry but I have wet my nappy” or “I’m sorry but I need your help to change my nappy” did not seem quite right somehow! At home, my wife will refer to them as a ‘pad’.
