Me and my family are about to book flights for a short trip away to Spain…can’t wait! However, I have light/moderate incontinence after a hysterectomy. This has been VERY debilitating and worrying for me…but I really don’t want it to ruin our holiday. The plane is something I am particularly worried about…as we are going to be sat down for a long period of time. Any tips would be amazing. Thanks, Alison
Having worked in airport security, they are very attuned to disabilities of this nature. As suggested, wear a slip/nappy and if challenged, just indicate to the security person that you suffer from incontinence and have to have protection underneath your clothing. Carry a spare nappy in your hand luggage so that you can explain in more detail if she wants further clarification. You are entitled to what is called a “private search” when going through security. I`ve just gone through Budapest security and had to tell the guard I had a nappy on. No problem at all.
